Company Information:
Distant Focus has been providing innovative solutions to the research and development community for over 5 years. We specialize in camera prototyping, optical systems, sensor networks, and software development. We pride ourselves in finding the best solution for our customers. Our goal is quite simple: "To turn your idea into working hardware or software at a reasonable cost." Distant Focus is located just minutes away from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. The University provides a vast source of talent and infrastructure that we can make use of as needed. History:Distant Focus was first conceived of in 1997 by David J. Brady, a leading research Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, for the purpose of exploring commercialization of ideas developed within his research group. In the spring of 2001 Distant Focus became operational when we hired our first full time employees. Our first project consisted of the continuation of efforts on a DARPA program originally started in Dr. Brady's research group and was called Tomographic Imaging with Unattended Ground Sensor Arrays.
